Tooth whitening – because white teeth are so beautiful!
Natural tooth color, unfortunately, is not always as we would like it to be. There are several factors which have influence on tooth shade, such as aging, smoking, genetic factor, antibiotic coloration, consuming food and drinks with great portion of iron or fluoride, etc. Tooth whitening is one of the simplest ways to make a smile more youthful. Whitening technology has come a long way in the last decade. With the proper application, prescription and a healthy mouth, tooth whitening is very safe. Tooth whitening in an unhealthy mouth may cause complications. That is why it is important to be under the direct supervision of a dental professional during the process.
Our surgery utilizes the Ultradent’s Opalescence Tooth Whitening System with number one Reality ranking, really state-of-the-art whitening products.
Whitening demands cooperation between dentist and the patient
After exact evaluation the appropriate whitening plan is introduced. Whitening can be performed in the office and at home.
An Opalescence® Quick® or even Xtra® Boost in-office tooth whitening is the best and the fastest technology to whiten you teeth. In just over an hour, you will leave with a brighter smile that makes you look great, feel better and eager to impress everyone you meet.

Many of our whitening clients are experiencing up to 5-9 shades of lightening. In many situations, this will be enough to accomplish your desired whitening. To maintain the power whitening process, the Home Whitening Technique can be used.
The home whitening technique is accomplished by fabricating a soft mold to fit over the teeth, similar to an athletic mouth guard, except much thinner. Many patients have reported it feels like they have nothing in their mouth when the whitening splint is in place.
The whitening splint is made to hold the whitening gel in close contact with the teeth. The process is simple. Gel is applied in the whitening splint and inserted over the teeth for 1-2 hours. This can easily be done while watching TV, or any other non-physical activity. Before you know it, the lightening process takes place.
For those cases with stubbornly dark teeth or that exhibit whitening resistance, the combination approach will be beneficial Xtra® Boost power whitening followed with the home whitening technique. At home you can utilize Opalescence® 10% & PF 10, 15 & 20% take-home carbamide peroxide gel. You can use it during the day, but it is more convenient when you sleep.
If you experience tooth sensitivity, you can stop whitening for a day or two and in the same mold put some Flor-Opal® gel. It will ease sensitivity.
Sustained release fluoride gel
During tooth whitening, patient should refrain from consuming any food or drink which might color the teeth, such as red wine, dark fruit juices, coffee, carrot, spinach, cigarettes, etc.
For how long my c will remain white?
Depends on food and drink habits, smoking. Once whitened, teeth can retain the shade for a few years. Procedure can be repeated, there are no medical restrictions. Short whitening after one year is recommended.
